As Vision Tobacco company, we recognize the critical importance of promoting sustainability and taking active measures to protect the environment, support education, and foster sustainable agricultural practices. Our Sustainability Agenda has been refreshed to reflect the changing external environment. Specifically, we are clear that reducing the health impact of our business is our principal focus area, as well as placing a greater emphasis on the importance of addressing climate change and environmental management.

 

We are committed to a sustainable future and to improving the social, economic and environmental well being of the community. We are dedicated to environmental improvements that foster a sustainable future and lead to social and economical improvements in the community we do business.

 

This sustainability report aims to outline our initiatives, progress, and future plans in these three key areas.

Future Goals and Targets

Achieve a further 10% reduction in carbon emissions by 2024.

Expand our renewable energy portfolio and aim for 15% reliance on renewable sources by 2025.

Implement initiatives to reduce water consumption and enhance water stewardship.

Education

Increase the number of scholarships and grants offered By 50% over the next 5 years.

Strengthen our community engagement efforts by establishing partnerships with additional educational institutions and community organizations.

Develop online educational resources and e-learning platforms to reach a broader audience.

Expand farmer training programs to reach 27% more farmers in East Africa mainly Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Congo & South Sudan.

Promote regenerative agricultural practices and advocate for sustainable land management.

Enhance traceability and transparency in our agricultural supply chains.

As part of our commitment to sustainable development, we actively support and promote environmentally friendly and socially responsible agricultural practices.

Farming Traning

We provide training and knowledge-sharing opportunities for farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural techniques. This includes workshops on organic farming, agroforestry, water management, and soil conservation. By equipping farmers with the necessary skills and knowledge, we aim to enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impacts.

Access to Resources

We strive to improve smallholder farmers’ access to essential resources such as quality seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation systems. Through partnerships with agricultural organizations, we facilitate the distribution of these resources, ensuring their availability to farmers in need.
